A Special Investigating Committee to Handle Syrians Related to Mission of UN Investigation

Damascus, October 29, (SANA) -

President Bashar al-Assad issued on Saturday a legislative decree of immeidate effective to forme a special judicial committee that directly deals with investigation procedures with civil and military Syrians in all relates to mission of the independent International Investigating Committee set up according to the UN Security Council resolution 1595 in July 4, 2005.

Decree number 96 for 2005,said "the special judicial committee will be presided by the Proscutor General of the Republic and will include membership of the Military Proscutor  and a judge nominated by the Minister of Justice."

The decree "called the committee to cooperate with the independent International Investigating Committee and with the Lebanese judicial authorities in all what is linked to procedures of the investigation clarified in the decree."

It noted that the formulated committee "might be aided in executing its tasks by he whom she might find suitable of military and civil judges or members of the military and civil judicial police."

Earlier, Syria renewed on Friday readiness to carry on cooperation with the UN International Committee Investigating assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister rafik Hariri.

" President Bashar al-Assad has renewed Syria's keenness and readiness to continue cooperation with the international investigating committee," a statement issued after the end of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak short visit to Syria said.

It noted that there were an underscoring, "not to politicize the report or direct its not finished results to serve some known parties ends."

The statement pointed out that the two presidents talks have dealt with latest developments in the region and consultations in the Security Council after report of the international prosecutor Detlev Mehlis was issued.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak left Damascus Friday afternoon after a short visit to Syria in which he held talks with President Bashar al-Assad and Syria officials.

President Bashar al-Assad and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak held two meetings this morning at Al-Shaab Palace one of them is a closed meeting.

This has come just after Murabrk's arrival in Damascus today.

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt arrived this morning in Damascus in short visit to the Syrian Arab Republic.

President Bashr al-Assad was at the head of his receptors at Damascus airport as well Foreign Minister Farouq al-Shraa and the Egyptian ambassador in Damascus.

Mubarak was accompanied with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abou al-Gheit and Minister of Information Anas al-Faqi as well Chairman of the Presidency office Zakariya Azmi…
