Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Russia Yevgeny Primakov described President Bashar al-Assad as a prominent political leader who enjoys a deep strategic vision in dealing with regional issues and international relations.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow Wednesday, Primakov, Russian former premier said "latest events proved that President al-Assad was defending Syria's interests and seeking to boost the country's role in the region."

Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri underlined that referendum on a new constitutional term for President Bashar al-Assad on May 27th is a consolidation of democracy principals, economic and political multiplicity .

Ottri said during a Cabinet weekly session that the referendum is a national and constitutional duty which shows people's commitment and adherence to national dignity and steadfastness.

Lebanese MP Kamel al-Rifaii affirmed the importance of the Syrian people's nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for a new term, stating that it affirms Syria's stances in dealing with Arab and international issues.

Al-Rifaii told SANA's correspondent in Beirut that the great victory of Lebanese National Resistance over the Israeli aggression 2006 wouldn't have been possible without Syria's support.

For his part, Lebanese MP Ghazi Zuaiter stated that the nomination of President al-Assad for a new term guarantees the continuation of building modern Syria.

For his part, General Amin Huteit, Chairman of the Committee for Verification of Israeli Withdrawal from Lebanese Lands in 2000, affirmed that Syria under the leadership of President al-Assad paid the price for its support of the Lebanese Resistance and people, stating that the wise Syrian government faced the challenge and stood by the Resistance against occupation.

In Sana'a, Secretary General of People's Unionist Liberation Party Ahmad Ali Said said that the nomination of President al-Assad for a new constitutional term means commitment to Syria's path of resistance and Arab nationalism. He pointed out that Syria under the leadership of President al-Assad propagated the ideal of organized resistance in defense of national and Arab rights and restoration of the occupied Arab lands.

For his part, Editor in Chief of Yemen's al-Jazeera newspaper Ahmad Abdullah al-Akwaa said that nomination is a natural result of President al-Assad's capability to deal with local, Arab and international situations. He also stated that Syria has proven the correctness of its opinion and the wisdom of its stances towards various issues.

Russain Duma Deputy Speaker Sergei Baburin has underlined that the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for new constitutional term is a consolidation of the internal stability in Syria and continuation of its independent policy on the foreign level that guarantees the achievement of its national interests.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow, Baburin said that the days have proven righteousness of the Syrian stance regarding the events in the region, in addition to the policy of President al-Assad in dealing with the danger and critical files.

For his part, Arab Socialist Union Party on Thursday called on the Syrian masses to make May 27th a historical national day through rallying President Bashar al-Assad by a strong national unity to pursue the development march and to build Syria's future.

In the same context, Iranian figures have described the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for new constitutional term as a right step and as an embodiment of Syria's firm principles and brave stances.

Editor-in-chief of Yemeni newspaper of al-Shmoa Abdul Baseit al-Shoumeiri on Thursday underlined that the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for new constitutional term considered as an inevitable necessity to face the conspiracy that is being hatched against Syria because of its national stances.

Deputy Yemeni Speaker of the Parliament Abdul Wahab Mahmoud Abdul Hamid said Thursday that policy of President Bashar al-Assad embodied the advancing pan-Arab project and maintained the pan-Arab and national stances.

The General Federation of Women in Syria has underlined that the referendum on new constitutional term for President Bashar al-Assad means for Syria's women the protect of their future and their children.

Chairman of the French-Arab Solidarity Association Lucien Bitterlin has underlined the importance of nominating President Bashar al-Assad for New Constitutional Term.

"I'm not a Syrian citizen but I feel as one of the Syrian family and express happiness and pride for the decision of the referendum on new constitutional term for President al-Assad who is characterized by his courageous stances and righteous vision regarding different events," Bitterlin said Wednesday in a forum held at Damascus University on the occasion of the referendum on new constitutional term for President Bashar al-Assad.

Bitterlin described Syria as a pivotal and main country which always adopts option of the just and comprehensive peace that guarantees the restoration of the legitimate rights to their owners, stressing the association's solidarity with its exerted efforts to achieve security, stability and peace in the region.

On the Syrian-French relations, Bitterlin underscored the necessity for activating the efforts of boosting them, considering that the new French President Nicolas Sarkozy must attach importance to the Arab issues in order to be a successful in his new mission.

Chairperson of the Jordanian Women's Union Amena al-Zu'ubi made a statement on Saturday, saying that the wise leadership of President Bashar al-Assad with its commitment to the nation's causes is a national option that the Arab people depend on and consider a guarantee for the future.  She also expressed her appreciation of Syria's stances and its national role against American hegemony in all its forms in the Arab region and the world.

 In a similar statement, Jordanian researcher Alian Alian affirmed that Syria withstood attempts of isolation and proved that those who attempt to isolate Syria can only isolate themselves, as a result of President's al-Assad's strategic insight and ability to run the struggle in dealing with regional and international conflicts. He also added that President al-Assad has an important role in preserving national principles and protecting the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance.

 For his part, Secretary General of Al-Risala Party expressed his hope of continuing the path taken by President al-Assad and praised the Syrian people's adherence to the democratic path that expresses the modernity of the Syrian society and the wisdom of its leaders.

Reverend Leonid Kalinin, Special Representative of Patriarch Alexius II, has underlined that the national bond between the Syrian people and it leadership provide Syria with the potential for development and growth and stable life in a transparent and tolerant society. In a statement made on Saturday, Father Kalinin said that the Russian people respect President Bashar al-Assad who is also respected internationally due to his wisdom, wide knowledge and deep political insight, which cause many world leaders to admire and appreciate him as a skilled statesman. Kalinin affirmed that Syria under the leadership of President al-Assad made remarkable achievements of internal and external levels, maintaining full independence in international relations while at the same time embracing everyone who comes to her with good intentions. He also stressed that it is impossible to bypass or ignore Syria's pivotal role in the region, pointing out to the attempts to isolate and pressure Syria which would contribute to the instability of the Middle East, and that the world is becoming more aware that Syria is the actual safeguard for just and comprehensive peace in the region.

For his part, Chairman of the Lebanese People's Congress Party in Lebanon, Kamal Shatila ,stressed that nominating President Bashar al-Assad for a new constitutional term represents a righteous national and pan-Arab decision. He added that President al-Assad's leadership has been an example to follow in holding on to the rights at times of changes and pressures.

The Russian State Duma MP Shamil Sultanov stressed on Sunday that nominating President Bashar al-Assad for a new constitutional term is a wise and correct decision. a statement, Head of the Parliamentary Bloc "Russia and the Islamic World" said that President al-Assad enjoys a strategic vision and brilliant mind embodied by a series of balanced internal reforms in Syria." He added "history has proven correctness of Syria's stances under the leader ship of President al-Assad regarding the Palestinian issue".

 For his part, Secretary General of the Jordanian Progressive Party  Zoheir Qawas asserted that the Syrian role gains a vital importance in the Arab world because it expresses the Arab nation 's conscience and rejects the foreign dictations . In a statement Qawas said that 'nominating President al-Assad for a new term is a continuation of the resistance method and the call for the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Arab territories, and this method acquires respect of the Arab nation.

 Secretary General of the Nasserite Democratic Movement in Lebanon Khalid al-Rawas asserted that referendum means continuation of the modernization and reform process and commitment to the pan-Arab and national stances . In a statement, al-Rawas said that "the latest developments in the region during the past seven years have proved the strength of the Syrian experience and the credibility of its performance," adding 'President al-Assad has dealt with regional events in a wise and courageous manner."

 In Budapest, Former Secretary of the Syrian Communist party Organization in Hungary Yussif Dib said that "the nomination of President al-Assad is a continuation of the modernization and development process as well as a respond to the people's demands and perseverance of the national independence."

 Minister of Housing and Urban Development Mohammad Saidi Kia on Sunday said the nomination of President Basahr al-Assad for a new constitutional term is considered as a very positive step and right decision which comes in the interest of the Syrian people and the region. In a statement, Saidi Kia added that "under the leadership of President al-Assad, Syria has witnessed a remarkable development in all domains through the process of modernization and development." He noted that President al-Assad's wise and brave stances deserve appreciation as he supports the Palestinian people and the Lebanese resistance, adding that President al-Assad played a positive and active role towards developments in Iraq.

 Spanish Political Analyst Khabeer Nart has underlined that the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad is characterized by strength in defending the pan-Arab principles and dignity.  In a statement to SANA correspondent in Madrid Saturday Nart said: "Syria is the only country that didn’t submit to the enemy's plots and US hegemony attempts."

 In Sanaa, Chairman of the Yemeni-Syrian Parliamentary Brotherhood Association Ali Abdullah Abu Halqiya said that the nomination of President al-Assad for second constitutional term embodies perception and deep understanding of the Syrian people to complete Syria's confident march of comprehensive reform and development.

 Yemeni journalist Talal Jamel underlined that President Bashar al-Assad has succeeded in leading Syria without any surrender or giving up the firm principles in the most critical circumstances. For his past, Jordanian journalist Jbara al-Barghouthi said that Syria has the right to be a proud of President Bashar al-Assad.

 Lebanese MP As'ad Hardan underlined that the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for second Presidential term constitutes an important event and assertion on the method, options, and on national and pan-Arab firm principles.

 Secretary General of Yemen's Democratic People's Party Salah al-Saiyadi said that Preisdent al-Assad has been able to defend Syria's interests in the past years and didn't compromise them, adhering to a truly independent policy to stand against the US-Israeli project in the region. Al-Saiyadi told SANA's correspondent in Yemen that the nomination of President al-Assad for a new constitutional term comes at a very crucial time in the history of the region, and that the recent developments in the region prove the correctness of Syria's policy and vision. 

Chairman of Arab Engineers Union Adel al-Kharafi stated that the nomination of President al-Assad for a new constitutional term affirms the continuation of the national course that defends the Arab nation's causes, mainly the Palestinian cause. Al-Kharafi told SANA's correspondent in Kuwait on Monday that President al-Assad achieved a lot for Syria both in the internal and external sides, pointing out to the internal developments recently witnessed in Syria in the fields of development and economic legislations. He also called for standing by Syria in defense of the Arab nation's causes and standing against conspiracies targeting our identity and future.

 In Moscow, Director of Middle East and North Africa Center at the Russian Foreign Ministry Diplomatic Academy Oleg Beresbkin expressed his confidence that the nomination of President al-Assad is the correct choice to protect and boost achievements in Syria. Beresbkin affirmed that Syria has witnessed major achievements in the past seven years, pointing out that political experts acknowledge Syria's achievements in social and economic development and the improvement of living standards. He also said that the firmly-established policy and realism of Syria is very clear, particularly when it comes to the peace process in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri stressed on Tuesday that the 27th of May is the day of democracy that represents the people's free will and commitment to boost development and adhere to national firms.  Heading a cabinet session, the premier pointed out to the popular festivals and rallies all over Syrian cities that express support to the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for a new constitutional term.

 Former Lebanese MP, Nasser Kindeel, has stressed that Syria , thanks to President Bashar al-Assad's leadership over the past seven years , was  the hard number that cannot be ignored in the equations of the region. Kindeel , during a lecture he delivered in Hama on the occasion of the referendum on a new constitutional term for President Bashar al-Assad , Kindeel pointed out to the steadfastness of Syria against all forms of challenges, and to her determination to continue the process of progress and development He indicated that President al-Assad during the past seven years managed to foil all attempts and plots targeting the national unity .

  Chairman of the Unification Movement in Lebanon, MP We'am Wahab underlined that developments in the region during the past years have proved the correctness of the Syrian stances. "Syria has been able to become an effective power in the international circles, thanks to the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian people support to him, Wahab said at a lecture given in the Syrian city of Aleppo on Tuesday. 

 In Beirut, Lebanese MP Osama Sa'ad hailed Syrian support to the Arab issues in Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon and its firm attitude towards the achievement of just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East. "Syria was an important partner and played a decisive role in realizing victory over Israeli war on Lebanon last July," Sa'ad said in a statement.

 Chairman of the Lebanese National Media Council Abdel- Hadi Mahfoz asserted that nominating President al-Assad for a new term is a confirmation of the national principles which Syria is committed to. "The nomination is an expression to support President al-Assad policy, method and approach regarding the region's issues." Mahfoz added in a similar statement.

 In Amman, Jordanian Journalist Amir al-Tal stressed that nominating President al-Assad is a national necessity 'to confirm our nation's adherence to principles and national legitimacy represented by the Syrian people.'

 Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad on Tuesday underlined that the policy of President Bashar al-Assad has boosted Syria's position in the region and the world, saying "President al-Assad stances came in the service of national and pan-Arab interests." Al-Miqdad added at a lecture in Tishreen University of Lattakia on the occasion of referendum that the people's support to President al-Assad and his nomination for a new term 'stem from his firm stance in the face of foreign conspiracies and his commitment to meet the citizens' demands'.

 In another lecture Miqdad affirmed that what Syria is witnessing these days expresses the Syrian people's pride in the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad who strengthened the method of dignity, sovereignty, independence and respect of the people's will. In a lecture on auditorium of Dar-al-Assad for Culture on Tuesday, Miqdad said that the political wisdom and courage of President al-Assad strengthened Syria's position in the Arab and international scenes, enabling it to stand in the face of pressure and conspiracies targeting the Arab nation. Miqdad stated that President al-Assad looks forwards to a bright future for his people and that he believes in the role of the people and cares about their interests, affirming that the Syrian people are waiting for the 27th of May to express their national choice and support President al-Assad.

 Well-known Spanish journalist Thomas Navarro has underlined that Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad lives in a new period of development and progress in all fields.  "President al-Assad led Syria during the past seven years towards the modernization and development due to the economic and social progress," Navarro said Monday in a statement on the occasion of nominating President Bashar al-Assad for new constitutional term.

 Secretary General, Society for Austro-Arab Relations Fritz Edlinger Wednesday stressed that the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for a new constitutional term means the continuation of the resistance policy which is adopted by Syria to face the hostile plots in the region.

 Secretariat General of Arab Pharmacists Union expressed happiness to share the Syrian people their national option regarding the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for new constitutional term.  The union stressed Wednesday in a statement that President al-Assad represents hope and will of the nation of unity and development and embodies pan-Arab, freedom and democracy.

 For his part, Secretary General of  democratic people's  party  in Yemen salah al-Seiyadi has underlined that the nomination of President al-Assad is a wise decision comes within a critical situation in the history of the region.

 In the same context, Former Arab League Secretary General Essmat Abdul Majeed underlined Tuesday that Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad has a pivotal and important role in the Middle East and in boosting Arab solidarity.

 Director General of the Jordanian al-Dustoor  newspaper Seif al-Sharif underlined on Wednesday that 'President Bashar al-Assad has proved through his culture and analytical vision that he is the only leader  capable of making the country face pressures successfully'.  In a statement on the occasion of referendum on a new constitutional term for President al-Assad , al-Sharif added that President al-Assad has been able to overcome all challenges targeting Syria in the past period of time .

 In Beirut, Former Lebanese MP Baha al-Din Etani stressed that on the referendum day, Syrian people will show their loyalty to President Bashar al-Assad's wise leadership. In a statement, Entabi said 'referendum is an embodiment of the continuation of progress and scientific development, free and respectable life for all citizens. He pointed out that the brothers in Lebanon are expressing solidarity with Syria's scarifies to rebuild their HOMEland and society.

 Chairman of the Arab French Friendship Association Lucien Bitterlin underlined on Wednesday that Syrian citizens are gathering in everywhere in Syria and abroad to announce their full support to President al-Assad in the face of all pressures and challenges. In a statement on the occasion of nominating President al-Assad for a new constitutional term, Bitterlin said that Syrian people are consensus on showing solidarity with their leader, whom they elected democratically, in spite of all aggressive campaigns launched against Syria.

Chairman of  Hungarian Communist Workers' Party Gyula Thürmer on Thursday underlined that the nomination of President Bashar al-Assad for a new constitutional term means the continuation of development and reform policy in Syria.  

For his part, former Lebanese MP We'am Wahab has underlined that President Bashar al-Assad's rejection of foreign pressures has made Syria a pivotal and effective country, possessing a free national decision based on the pan-Arab and national interest.   In lecture delivered Wednesday in Lattakia under the title "President Bashar al-Assad as a President, a Leader and a Militant ", Wahab pointed out to Syria's role during the seven past years in facing the conspiracies that are being hatched against the region.

 Chairman of the Venezuelan Legislative National Council Celia  Floris underlined on Thursday that nominating President Bashar al-Assad for a new constitutional term is a guarantee for the continuation of the well- known and wise Syrian policy that support the Arab just issues and the Venezuelan Foreign policy against hegemony 's policy   ."The presence of President al-Assad in Syria and President Hugo Chلvez in Venezuela will boost the good and strong relations between the two countries." She added in a statement to SANA Correspondent in Caracas. 

 For her part, Chairman of the Syrian –Venezuelan Parliamentary Association Urowa Moralis said that President al-Assad enjoys the characteristics of the Leader and human feelings towards his people, adding "he deserves the people's support in nominating him for a new constitutional term". She underlined that nominating President al-Assad will enhance the standing ties between the two countries and contribute to upgrade these relations.

 Chairman of the Syrian –American Council in Washington Zakaria Khalf said that nominating President al-Assad is a wise and correct decision, noting "the current stage and situation in the region requires a capable leader who is able to be courageous in the face of challenges.

 In Beirut, Member of the National Council for Media Galeb Qandil asserted that President al-Assad is the Arab leader who approaches by his strategic options and national stances the Arab people's conscience in resisting the US-Israeli aggression.   "We look at President al-Assad as a symbol of the pan-Arab dignity and leader of the modernization process and resistance."
