Will It Take Long?
Since the usurpation of Palestine, and even before, Zionists have started a smearing campaign of distortions and falsifications. Thus, they tried to depict the land of Palestine as a land without people where all Jews of the world should move and settle! Their leaders left no stone unturned as to bring the more of world Jews to the land, which they terrorized and perpetrated every crime against its indigenous to be expelled to Diaspora. They were, thanks to Balfour Declaration and other conspirators, to bring millions of Jews, some of them were brought by the Israeli perpetrated crimes against them in the countries where Jews used to live, as Israeli documentaries stated years later! Such a sinister campaign is still in full swing including the accusations against Arab Curricula, Resistance, Media and every objective and different view as ‘ anti-Semite’,
According to an Israeli study (Haaretz, June 28, 2002), "Palestinian schoolbooks fan the flames of hatred," "express a lack of recognition of Israel, not even according to the 1967 borders, alongside adamant claims to Palestinian rule of all the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea." Another complaint is that the books mention that Israel has "exploited" and "degraded" Palestinians "by changing the names of Arab villages and cities, and by defacing and stealing Arab manuscripts". The Israeli reviewers are outraged that in one book there is a story of a Palestinian girl visiting her family's original HOME in the city of Jaffa which is now in Israel. Their biggest complaint is perhaps that there are maps which show "Palestine" as it once was, , part of Bilad Al-sham. According to Jordan times, "even an historically accurate map showing where major Palestinian population centres actually were prior to their destruction in 1948, constitutes for Israel "an adamant claim to rule" the whole country. As a matter of fact, Israel has changed the name of every Arab city it occupied whether in the Golan Heights or in Palestine. It erased every Arab identity of the occupied cities and villages, robbed every archaeological finding, Moshe Dayan’s eye was blinded while excavating for Arabs archaeology before he boasted later on that he had the most expensive archaeological findings in the world.
Surfing the Internet for information on the Syrian Golan Heights, I was surprised to death to see that Israel made it part and parcel of its map! Tens of websites filled with every heinous lie about this time immemorial Arab Land; It has erased more than 234 villages and towns and littered the map with more than 34 settlements with new names! Thus it built N’vei Ativ Settlement over the Syria Joubata Az-zit’, Katzrin over Qisrin, ‘ Afik’ over the ‘ Fiq’, Chandes over the ruins of my village ‘ Qaraa’na and Masakiya’ Ein Zivan over ‘Ein Ziwan’. Ministry of Tourism's official website, depict the Golan Heights, West Bank as part of Israel "Judean Desert" and "Shomron" [Samaria], while the Palestinian city of Nablus is given only the Hebrew name "Shechem" As a journalist, I have been in daily search for Israeli dailies and other media outlets; all in all, they used but the language of war, threats, escalation. So far such a media never mentions vital and important UN Resolutions like 242, 338, nor the Principle of Land for Peace. It is a war media in diametric opposition to the Syrian void of war media outlets. I dare any journalist to cite a post Madrid political speech by any Syrian official without mentioning UN Resolutions, just and comprehensive peace, land for peace, pre- June 4th lines. They try to depict Arabs surrounding as a folk of savage killers who only think about the destruction of Israel. The Israeli void of peace media is in itself one of the major causes for escalation and tension in the region. Such media even tried to depict Arabs Peace Initiative as a mere tactical move, for which the best answer was the so-called ‘ defensive Shield’. They collected, forged, developed, and photo-shopped Palestinian children photos as to appear in suicide costumes! Recently, the Associated Press published a wire photo of an Israeli toddler carrying a sign which read "Expel the Arab Enemy," the Israelis do boast about how some kindergartens dress Israeli children as soldiers and having them march in ranks. Even the curricula imposed upon the Syrians under occupation in the Golan Heights is but a pile of lies and fabrications shelving every Syrian identity and history of the Golan aside! What is right is always so, however, what is wrong might be temporarily right. The real face of Israel has been steadily exposed to the whole world.Dr. Aaron, a veteran US Expert in the region affairs, recently called, in a satellite debate hosted by the American Cultural Center in Damascus, on Arab Media as not to encourage what he called hatred and violence. Will it take long before others would kindly realize that it is the Israeli and pro-Israeli media which should stop the dissemination of lies and fabrications. Will it take long before the wise would put an end to the vicious cycle of blind hatred and killing. The weapon of hatred is, as a dear US friend of mine once stated, the most destructive of every other weapon. The public opinion in this part of the world has been inclined to endorse Arabs Initiative of Peace. Every peace loving has to capitalize on the dire need as to restore the usurped in full to the line of Sunday, June 4th, 1967.
