Before Peace would wither!

Israel has exploited every crisis worldwide as to translate its greedy expansionist anti-peace hardliners’ schemes into de facto on the ground. Thus, Sept. 11 terrorist attacks were manipulated as a cover up for genocide against Palestinians in "the largest detention camp in the world". Further, Israel is to capitalize on any possible US strike against Iraq, on any misunderstanding or rift between the US and country in the region. Many observers believe that Israel, in tight crisis caused by the Intifada persistence and steadfastness, aims but to get rid once and one for all from every Palestinian and every international commitment. Thus, recent quit of Labor so called doves, Qana and Jenin doves , might be interpreted as a well planned strategy by Israeli Gov. of Sharon to find an outlet out of such a crisis. The majority haven’t the lost the hope for a peaceful end to the ongoing struggle and strife. Unfortunately, the Butcher of Sabra, Shattila, Gaza… is adamant on draining the last drop of every Palestinian blood; consequently, further extremists and butchers were brought arranged to as to joint his coalition in an exposed long prepared for scheme. An observer can not but to wonder weather such a move was coordinated with some parties in prelude a possible US strike against Iraq, be it instigated by hawks, weapons factories, oil cartels. " I am on the way of forming a government with a different make-up,’’ Sharon told the Israeli Maariv asserting ‘’ policy lines will remain exactly the same policy lines and its goals won’t change.’’ Such a ‘make-up’ brought the butcher of Jenin, Shaol Mofaz, to add a more red color to a draconian- faced government. Soon after resignation from War Ministry, Benjamin Ben Eliezer, described the Labor quit as a ‘ return to Rabin way’,. Ben-Eliezer argues that, after two years of spiraling conflict, Israel should present a "diplomatic horizon" to the Palestinians. He says it has exhausted its military options. Soon after his resignation, Ben-Eliezer started to talk about the need of Israel for a peaceful solution citing the inability to crush the Intifada. This is reminiscent of some US officials’ statements following their end of official governmental posts. Meanwhile, Mr. Peres cited the return to negotiation table as the ‘ only solution as to attain peace’. It is astonishing when both men acted as former officials in Sharon’s differently!

The next proposed possible transitional Government by Sharon joins the most extremists of Israeli war generals, Mofaz, the butcher of Jenin, Golan Heights, 1967, and Lebanon Invasion 1982, not to mention the Nero of Tel-Aviv, who once threatened to set Washington ablaze, Netanayahu . Mofaz was urgently summoned from London where an investigation was ordered after lawyers representing several Palestinian families presented a dossier demanding General Mofaz's arrest under the Geneva Convention. Mofaz is accused of crimes resulting from Israel's "targeted assassinations" policy and the destruction of Palestinian HOMEs. In a 17-page letter sent to the British Justice Minister, a human rights lawyer, Imran Kahn, also accused General Mofaz of breaching the convention banning the use of torture while he was head of the Israeli occupation Army.

Mofaz was an infantry brigade commander in 1982 when Sharon, then war minister, ordered Israeli forces to invade Lebanon. Later, he commanded raids against the Lebanese Resistance. He led Israeli forces in the West Bank and then in the Gaza Strip before becoming chief of the army's planning branch, then deputy chief of staff and finally, in 1998, Israel's 16th chief of staff. He is the very man, who opposed Israel's l withdrawal from Lebanon in 2000.

Actually, Israel, since its foundation in 1948, has been for the most parts of its trouble-making history by butcher generals including Ben Gurion, Shamir, Peres, Barak, Sharon, … Any way, some would say this is a merely domestic issue in reflection of the Israelis voters wish. Indeed it is when it comes to a civilized country with certain constitution, borders, establishments, abiding by law, respect for humans. When it comes to Israel, it is never so. Why, because the region is still in waiting for a wise real man of peace. Every Israeli Premier is elected under the motto of how NO’s, he outlines! No to withdrawal, no to June 4, 1967, no to……any yes. If so is the matter of fact: The definite answer is to be by the region masses, if not by its leaders, a big NO to Israel. Such a no would lead the region more astray! In fact, such a no is not out of rejection to the existence of Israel as part of the region countries, but it is the would be natural reaction to the Israeli anti-peace, expansionist and intransigent policies; hence the region can no more for long withstand the ongoing Israeli provocations and arrogance. Hopefully, the other side would next February, vote for rational open-minded peace interlocutors before Arabs’ Initiative of Peace would for good wither.
